Fixed, then broken again

Removed battery and cleared CMOS correctly this time - no help.
I thought maybe the heat sink was causing a problem - swapped heat sink on the 933 with the one off my 600E. Plugged 'er in and ..... it worked! All BIOS settings function as advertised: 933MHZ CPU, 133 FSB, PC133 - nice!

Then I made a fatal error - cpu fan was noisy on old heatsink. So ... I removed cpu, swapped fans, reinserted cpu and ... you guessed it - NADA ever since!!!

I'm thinking bad socket. Put the 600E back in & it works. Must have inserted & removed the 933 a couple of dozen times. I give up. It's just going to have to be fast enough, sigh.

Thanks for all the advice and support.

Bye.
