Thanks for the link, I'll give it a try as soon as I can. My father just says we need to get it sorted.

I haven't personally checked the router configuration but both my brother and my father have (we're all fairly decent with computers) and they didn't see anything in them that would be causing the problem. My brother has tried a direct cable to the router but all it didn't have any greater results.
