Ok, I've started the steps you've suggested . . . one initial problem: I've run a scan with ewido, and cleaned the stuff it found, but even when not scanning, ewido sends an "Infected File found!" message, concerning "wkouyndw30104lib.dll". Upon pressing "ok" to clean it, a message pops up telling me to reboot -- upon pressing "ok" on that, the "Infected file" message pops up again, about the same file, and this goes on ad infinitum. Continuing on with the other steps . . .
Also, I'm originally from Pennsylvania as well -- and I miss it.
