Sorry I forgot to answer ur question.
My freeserve isn't recent. I was using freeserve when I was on dial up. But then had bt broadband installed. I use thunderbird as my mail client and just confugured it to accept emails from my old freeserve address. I haven't been paying Freeserve as I have moved to BT broadband but thunderbird still seems to connect to their address. To be honest I'm not sure why. I'm not sure how or if I should remove Freeserve.
