It's possible that the on-board NIC has a problem, or there is quite possibly some corruption in the drivers.

I'd uninstall the drivers for the on-board NIC totally, and then open Device Manager, View, View Hidden Devices, and remove any trace of it. Re-install the drivers and see if that helps.
