What "Word" are you referring to? Pick any passage and ask two people what it means and you'll get at least two meanings. If it's truly "The Word" I don't understand how the one true path to salvation can be open to individual interpretation?
The Reformation came about when people were able to read the Bible and said, "Wait a minute. I don't agree with you. I think it means this.." So, with the various translations saying different things, which is the true one?
And even if you can agree on the one true translation (how will you be sure you picked the right one?

), you still have the dilemma of differing interpretations.
This just leaves too much to chance for me to accept from an omnipotent God.
