Do you have 2 Network Interface Cards? (NICs). Do you have a hub or a switch?

Ps. How did you dial one from the other? Do you have two or more phone lines?

In a nut shell - you need 2 NICs and either a cross over cable or a hub or switch. You'll need the same protocol running on both for them to communicate.
