Thankyou very much for your help. I've uninstalled McAfee and installed ZoneAlarm and this seems to have fixed the CPU hang up. Well I've had no problems since.

I've also deleted the items you advised me too. Thanks

The 4 alarms flagged by TDS where exe's from games or application installers. One was hltv.exe from half-life, one was BitTorrent-3.4.2.exe another was MinGW-2.0.0-3.exe. I can't remeber the other one off hand but it was just another installer exe.
I don't know if these should be removed or not?
