I also had a problem getting sound to work with the P5AD2-E. I had installed the chipset, and the audio files, 3 parts, from Asus web site. From another thread, I got the idea to install the C-media drivers from the Asus CD, rebooted, and now my sound works.

I wanted to post this in case it would be helpful for others who ran into sound problems with this board.
