This problem is common with this game. You should try opening up the case at the back. Inside, you will find a chip and a circular gold sensor. The gold sensor will have to wires glued to it. Sometimes, the wires don't touch the sensors, which makes the cymbal not react when you hit it. Use a piece of duct tape to cover the entire sensor so the 2 wires are pushed onto the sensor.
