Have you actually gotten into the WMC on the xbox? Or does it disconnect when you try to access media? Also, can you play your media through the normal music/video tabs in on the xbox? Another thing to check is if your router is DHCP enabled. To check this,(in Windows 7) go to Control Panel, Network, Network and Sharing, then click on your "local area connection" , hit details, then it should have a list of things, one of them being "DHCP Enabled" it should say yes. But if it isn't, then this could be your problem. As far as I know, you need a DHCP enabled router in order to share your media with your xbox. Post back with any other findings/info.
