Yea there is a sticker with a product key at the bottom of the computer for vista.
No his sony laptop didn't come with a restore dvd because he bought it used.

By the way do you know what the bsod 0x12A is? A friend told me it was a file missing out of installation but I'm pretty sure an error would come up, he also said it could be a hard drive problem....(please god no)
