I run Windows 7 x64 on my laptop and it works fine with 2Gb of RAM, though I am planning to upgrade to 4Gb when I have the opportunity so that World of Warcraft runs more smoothly. I noticed a huge improvement from Vista 32-bit to Windows 7 32-bit and good improvement from 32-bit to 64-bit (that may have been just the upgrade from Beta to RC). As long as you can find those drivers you should get Win7, especially because it's free.
