PC upgrade

I have a Dell 8200 series 2.0 processor, Bus speed is 400MHz, 768 PC 800 Ram, ATI 9600se card, the PC is going to be 3 years old in June and I've been upgrading it trying to keep up, when I bought this it was convienent I just called Dell and told them out I wanted and they sent it, but I over paid, so now I'm stuck, but with the little upgrades I did make and the way I keep it up its not a bad starter rig, so I called Dell and asked them if my motherboard would except a faster CPU, they said I could go up to 2.4 for $700 I'm not doing that, noway I could almost build another rig for that!

So is there any work around that I can do to upgrade the Processor to 3.0 or higher ?
