hey DC - the "slippery leg" makes a new twist on the old "wobbly boot" often worn by punters leaving the pub - wow, combine the two and you would be in dangerous territory! - glad you can laugh with them and not get upset by your situation.
My 82 year old mother has hip joint problems - has had one replacement and is on the waiting list for the other and sometimes she goes to the local shops on her invalid scooter - she is worrying that they are all going to ban her from going into their shops (not on the scooter - she gets off and goes in on walking sticks) after getting stuck in the chemist, the hairdressers and the grocery shop. Her hip just seizes up and she can't go anywhere - at the chemist their delivery guy, a footballer, had to carry her out to her scooter in a big bear hug

now when they see her pull up one of the girls runs out and gets her prescriptions and brings them back out to her.
I've offered to do this sort of stuff for her and she lets me when she's bad but likes her independence (has lived on her own for 35 years) so struggles on with it.
Parents - who'd have them!
