Alright, so I've made a few changes since my first post.

One of which is that I downloaded SP 2, on its own it didn't do much, and second I deactivated UAC, which was one of the recommended fixes for 0x0A.

It fixed the bluescreens, but now I'm getting frequent CTD's.

I'm doing everything detailed in your posts, and will upload everything shortly. Besides everything I've done to fix it, I hadn't installed any new hardware or drivers before this started, besides Windows Updates which installed automatically. No yellow !'s or red X's in the device manager. My "display adapter" driver, NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GS, has the driver date of "10/06/2009" and the version is "8.15.11.8618".

Hmm. Doesn't seem to like 7zip.

Or the regular Windows compressor for that matter.
