I currently don't have a laptop and I haven't been experiencing the problem on startup it's only during waking up from sleep mode. I disabled the Microsoft Drivers that appeared to be conflicing with my HD4850 whenever I wake my system up. What I believe was happenning was a major conflict with the two separate drivers which was resulting in the 800X600 res. on wakeup. All appears to be good for now.....for now....but you never know when trouble can arise. I was thinking it might have been an issue with the newest ATI Driver....9.6 I think it is.
