It appears that anything with a lot of video action will crash your system - that seems to point to the video card, especially when you've noticed an increase in temps on it.

Stuff happens and hardware wears out over time. It could be anything, but the vid card seems the most likely, then overheating issues in general, then memory and hard drive stuff. The Firefox crashes could be related, or they could be an entirely separate problem. We'll figure that one out once we stop the crashes.
