Help with accessing DSLAM using internet explorer

Hello,

I am having a problem accessing a DSLAM - I believe its a routing problem and need some help sorting it.

I have a Windows XP pc with IP address of 200.200.100.120. I then have a DSLAM with a default address of 192.168.16.250 and gateway of 192.168.16.1

I can not access this router using its IP address in IE or ping it. Obviously I need to add something else to the settings.

I added a second IP address in the Advanced tab for the network card on the XP pc of 192.168.16.120 but that did not help.

Any ideas? The PC is connected to a 6 port switch and which the DSLAM is also connected to.

I can set the IP adderess of the router to 200.200.100.80 with no problems using a com port interface and TELNET and then access it from IE but I dont want to do that. I want to be able to set its address via the IE interface in the first place.

All help appreciated as to what I need to do to XP to see the address given.
