You could always use a second browser app. (like Firefox, opera, or Google chrome) and use one for browsing the internet and the other for your proxy settings.
If not you can always manually set what web sites don't use your proxy settings in IE but I never messed with this so it would have to be trial and error. but with that said in IE options, you would go under connections setting, and in LAN settings under proxy server you would then click on advanced button...Post back with any updates please..and good luck.
