Laptop overheats when it's charging and I'm playing a game.

My laptop is an HP dv5-1002nr. I've had it for probably 9 or 10 months. I used to be able to play games on the highest graphics settings while keeping it plugged in, but recently (a few months ago), it starts shutting itself off. I figured temperature was the problem so I bought a cheap laptop cooler and downloaded Speedfan to monitor the temperature. It worked for a while, but I wasn't able to play on the highest graphical settings, and eventually I couldn't play while it was plugged in.

So basically, I have a hard time keeping my laptop from overheating while gaming and trying to charge.

I've taken off some of the back covers and blown out the dust from them, but it doesn't help much.

Currently, my temp is 116 and charging. When I play games plugged in, it hits about 140, unplugged it's 130ish.

Any suggestions on what I should do? It's still under warranty. And I was going to buy a better laptop cooler with a lot better circulation, but it's 80 dollars and I don't want to do that just yet.

When it overheats, the screen goes black but the lamp is still on, and I have to hold the power button down for 5 seconds to switch it off. Only way. And very rarely, even if it's plugged in, the laptop will just turn off like it lost all power.

Any idea what I can do?
