I found the 9800GT to run hot, at least mine did, so I replaced the stock cooling with aftermarket, and that sorted that issue. Used an Arctic Cooling Accelero Twin Turbo, but the card is about 3 slots in width afterward, don't know if you could do that with SLI.

Im not sure I would be able to upgrade the cooling fan itself but a friend recommended I apply thermal paste. I have done some searches and this seems like a tricky/messy procedure so I'm trying to avoid it if there are other solutions. cheers
