I need a new 'low cost' computer. I am not a gamer but mostly use computer for internet and sometimes a game or two. My local computer store can build a box which consists of:
Athlon 64 1640 (2.6Ghz) cpu
ASUS AM2+ motherboard
Foxcon case w/300w ps
1 gig PC2-5300
WD 160 gig 7200RPM SATA II
On-board video and PClex slot
Windows XP Home
DVDRW w/nero
Cost: 400.00
Question is, is this rig worth the money?
Would anyone suggest different components?
My 7 year old computer lost it's motherboard and I am now working from a computer I put together from dumpster scraps and it barely gets me on the internet to ask these questions of you knowledgeable people.
Thanks for any input because I am really ignorant when it comes to computers and their components.
