Hello everyone. I've just arrived at my Mother's house and she's having lots of problems with her computer. She had no anti virus installed and told me that some mornings she would come to the computer to find that certain applications had either appeared or disappeared. I noticed that many of the things I had previously installed for her are now missing.

I downloaded and installed AVG Anti Virus but now the computer is running slower than ever - it takes anywhere between 2 and 3 minutes for an internet explorer page to open - and sometimes in the middle of being on a webpage, it will suddenly open to a new webpage though I haven't touched anything.

It seems to me there is some sort of virus or something, but I didn't find anything that wasn't deleted during the virus scan. Any thoughts? I would really appreciate some help.
