EEK! Word 2007 Problem

Hi there, I hope you can help me out.

I've been running Word 2007 as part of the Office Suite for 2 and a half years now and it's been fine so far.

However recently, I've noticed the following problems have developed:

1) When double clicking a Word document on desktop or in an explorer window, Word will open but then bring up an error message saying that it cannot open the file because it's not at the specified location, which it is.

2) When Word is open, it will not let me use the mouse to edit the document. I.e. I can't click to place the cursor somewhere in the text, I can't use the mouse to highlight text and I can't even click on the scrollbar to scroll through the document. Instead I just have to use the keyboard to do all of the above. Clicking the toolbars works fine though.

3) When closing Word, it always says that "Word is not responding", then it goes through a stage of attempting to identify the problem, then it starts trying to re-open Word, which I usually just cancel because obviously I'm trying to close it. Even when it reopens though, the problems persist.

I haven't been using Word too much since this started so there could well be other errors but those are the three I've noticed.

I've tried completely uninstalling and re-installing Microsoft Office from my machine but each time the problems continue. My family are all also using the same version of Word (it's a copy provided by an educational facility where I study and my Mum works) and they have experienced no problems.

I was wondering if anyone has come across something like this before or if anyone has any suggestions on how I could go about fixing this problem?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

Adam.
