My System

BSODs, Slow boot, random lockups

I built my new computer from newegg in February, and just recently, have been having some problems. I have not overclocked my system in any way. When I boot the computer up, it goes through POST quickly, and loads vista up with no problem, and then when I try to log into my user, it says welcome for about 30 secs to 1 minute before it brings me to my desktop. Then, while gaming sometimes, and other times just while browsing the internet, I will get BSODs at random times. I am confident it is not a heat problem, as I have been checking the temps right before it crashed and they are well within acceptable levels. I posted this in memory because I believe it may be a RAM problem, as that is the only thing I have modified. I forget how I did it, but I set the computer to only boot with 3GB of RAM rather than all 4, because a game I play will not function with 4GB running. My specs are as follows and I'd be happy to get any more information you need.

Antec 1200 case, 4x120mm intake, 2x120mm exhaust, 1x250mm exhaust
Gigabyte ep45-ud3p mobo
E8500 core 2 duo 3.16GHz
Zalman 9700 CPU cooler
Corsair XMS 2x2GB RAM
WD HDD 500GB SATA
HIS Radeon 4870 512 MB Iceq4+
Corsair TX750 750W

Thanks in advance! :D
