A8N-SLI Deluxe System failed memory test

Greetings!

A couple of weeks ago my computer refused to start, and only beeped and reiterated "System failed memory test". The mobo may be old, but the memory sticks are new and fresh. I still tested them to be sure, though, and they are kosher.

So I reset the CMOS, which interestingly swithced the memory fail, to VGA fail... I found that to be a bit suspicious, so I switched the onboard battery to a fresh one, which solved the problems altogether after a new reset of the CMOS.

However after just a week the computer died on me again, with the all too familiar beep and "system failed memory test". I have done pretty much the same remedy as the last time. Checked the mem sticks, reset the CMOS, and even yet another brand new onboard battery. Nothing helps.

So I have tried to switch the mem sticks (two 1 GB Kingston DDR) between the slots, used A2 & B2 instead of A1 & B1, used only one mem stick, etc etc. Still no progress.

Furthermore, is seems quite impossible to enter BIOS, since the computer hangs and starts beeping before I get the chance to enter BIOS.

I have checked here on this forum, but haven't been able to find any more suggestions than what I have already tried. So, has any of you guys got any bright ideas, because I'm kind of stumped here. Or do I simply have to assume that my mobo has kicked the bucket?

Cheers!
