I tried what you suggested below, and I couldn't find any extensions with the .jar .

Also, when I start my computer in Safe Mode, it will NOT connect to the Internet. Just for grins, I tried to click on the desktop Firefox icon, and it DOES open a Firefox window, although it won't process any further due to no connection. Weird, I know.

I restarted my computer, and tried your fixes below again, still couldn't find the .jar ext, and now FF won't even open a browser window, but it is still showing up under processes in the task manager.

Anyway, I am at a loss. I truly appreciate all of your help so far
