According to ASRock, that Mobo "should" accept the single 2GB stick of DDR2800 RAM but there is a possibility the Mobo doesn't like that particular brand (I've never heard of it).
A matched pair of 2X1GB would have been a better choice to take advantage of Dual Chanel.
You could try removing the new RAM, clear the CMOS. install the new RAM and reboot. You could also run MemTest on the new RAM.
