Video hangs when CPU performance lowered

my acer extense 6700's CPU has 4 perfomance settings for when the system is on battery.

1. Very High
2. High
3. Medium
4. Low

the videos play well when on "very high: but as soon as i lower to "high" or lower settings, the video starts to hang. and this happens for 5 secs after evry 30 secs. during this time the cpu utilization goes to maximum and then falls down.
