Your motherboard will automatically down clock to run at 667mhz. RAM should either be a single module on its own or bought in a dual channel pack - if adding memory that differs in manufacturer or model then there's a very high chance it wont be compatible.
So, in escence, your issue is because you're adding more than one memory module that wasn't bought as a dual channel pack.
