Re: Ubuntu laptop Touchpad problems

Hi wmorri, sorry for being a pain. It seems so silly and yet should be so easy, most likely a driver that should have been loaded but isn't because 9.04 isn't seeing a "mouse" at a "ps/2" port whereas bot Windows & 8.04 do!!

XP is working and functional apart from silly random beeping, possibly heat sensor alarm. I am not asking you to foix that for me

I want to give an alternative OS to the user in a dual boot system but the touchpad doesn't function in the version (9.04) I want to use. In an older version (8.04) it does.

I suppose I should pop down to the Ubuntu forums and ask there but I'll see if I can fix it at TSF first.

edit .. changed my mind and I am using the two prong approach. On the Ubunbtu forum I searched and found no touchpad info so i placed my question there too!
will naturally report back here if I find anything. I suspect that it must be a bug, since the older live cd's find the touchpad
