Question Computer unplugged while running, won't turn on

Ok, so my parents just got a new computer which they used for a day and then they said it looked like it was turned off (black screen and nothing responding etc.) but it was still making a noise (fan was running) so they unplugged it, and they can't get it to come back on. So I checked it (after plugging it back in) and the LED for power lights up green but the fan doesn't start and nothing happens. Anyone know what might be the problem? I wouldn't have thought unplugging it would break it, and it was working fine before this. Sounds like a power supply problem or something but I thought I would ask the experts :)

I don't know the exact specs of it but I think it had an intel dual core, 4gig ram, nVidia 7900 GTX and 2 hard drives and a bunch of other stuff with numbers and letters and things. It's been quite a while since this happened and I have tried recently to plug it all back in again and try but it's still the same.
