Re: D-Link DKT-410 Wireless N Starter Kit OR Netgear Wireless-N WNB2100
hello...you are going to think I am thick...but didn't understand much of what you've written.
However The set up I have is a BILLION BIPAC 5102SM Modem which is connected by a CAT 5 Patch cable (is this an ethernet cable?) to my old PC (running XP Pro)...I now have a D-link DKT-410 router (DIR-635 router with DWA-140 wireless N USB Mini Adapter package.)
I would want my new Pc (running Vista 64 bit) to have the stabler or faster connection... the layout of the flat and phone point (ADSL connection) makes it more logical to have the old Pc connected to the router by ethernet cable and the new Pc wireless though....
Q1.Could there be a lot of difference is speed between Pc connected with ethernet cable to router and the one connected wirelessly?
Q2. I assume that I install the software that came with the router on the PC that is going to use wireless? Or can I install it on both PC's ?
Q3. if at times speeds are not ok on the wireless connection, can I simply connect the wireless connected PC temporarily by ethernet cable via the router?
thanks for any help advise you can give
