Hi Sam,

There are many tech schools and community colleges out there that offer this type program. However, you can get to know about as much as you need by simply working part time in a computer shop while you learn the ropes. Some place that services and sells computers might be a good place to start.

Even hanging out in a forum like this and monitoring the hardware techs at work can give you quite a bit of knowledge about how things work and why they don't at times.
