It'll only work if you also get a new power supply along with the graphics card. The stock power supplies in oem machines especially are very low quality and are not powerful enough to power a high end card. For a 9800 you would need a 600w or higher with 26amps on the 12v rail and an 80+ certification.
As for 45fps on high with AA , you may want a gtx 260/280 for that.
