Have issue after watching movies
Ok guys.
So Say I'd be watching a movie on PowerDVD/BSPlayer, anything with its own unique audio source like a 5.1 signal or something and then the movie finishes up and I close the program
I go to listen to some music but I can't play music. No sound plays, even Windows theme sounds play. If I try to watch Top Gear as an avi file nothing.
Yet I can still reopen PowerDVD and watch the movie perfectly.
All settings are fine and drivers are bang up to date.
What's going on? It's like the computer isn't switching back to normal system playback.
My sound card is an Auzentech 7.1 X-Plosion and I'm running XP SP3 and it's connected to a home theater system via SPDIF Optical.
I already troubleshooted that the HT is fine. I've uninstalled and reinstalled PowerDVD and the sound drivers to no avail. So it's some sort of Windows issue that I cannot figure out.
ANyone have any advice? I've had this set up for two years prior to last year (My jr and sr year of high school, not my freshman year of college, and now my sophomore year which is current) and I've never had this issue, or an issue at all to begin with. It worked flawlessly. I just never used this set up last year because I brought my Logitech X-540s to college instead.
Thanks
