Printing .prn without original printer
Some years ago I needed to print a document to keep for my own personal records. As I tend to lose paper I decided to 'print' it in an electronic format. As I did this while I was at work I opted for the 'print to file' option and then I e-mailed the file to myself. The file was in a .prn format and the printer it was 'printed' on was an HP LaserJet 4250.
Since then I have tried to print this file again. However, we have changed printers at work and I have an HP Photosmart at home. I have tried printing it through the DOS command to my printer at home but only jibberish comes out. After reading up on the issue I have found out that I need the original printer for the file to come out the way it was supposed to.
My question is whether there is anyway to print this file without having an HP LaserJet 4250. This file is extremely important and I would certainly like to be able to print it!
