Firefox Saved Passwords Recovery

I had to replace my son's laptop due to him spilling soda on the old one. Luckily, I was able to save the hard drive and it is now in a case and usable as an external hard drive.

He had a password saved in Firefox 3.0 that he does not know and needs in order to access a site for an online class. (There is no automated password recovery).

Is there a file on the old hard drive that contains saved passwords and can be copied over to the new hard drive?
