Re: Need help connecting G3 to network
What OS version is the Mac running? You can find out by going to the Apple menu (upper left corner of your screen) then selecting "About This Mac". The version information will help us figure out a solution.
Mac OS 9 and earlier do not have support for Windows-compatible file shares, so you would need to set up an FTP server for transferring files.
Mac OS X would make the process much simpler as it has support for multiple types of file shares, including Samba shares (Windows-compatible).
Could you also give us more information about the printer? How it is connected to the network (through the router or the Windows machine)? A TCP/IP networked printer may need to be accessed differently than a Samba printer (connected to a Windows machine).
