I do think there are some unique ways to attract a market - I really do. I don't think doing it the way Match and eHarmony have done it is the way though. You're going to have to figure out a way to be different. I have a few ideas - but I've thought about making a dating site myself (not traditional at all, though - most of the focus would be setting up columns for dating experts I am friends with, and a minor focus in the future on dating profiles if I felt that fit in the model) so I'm not real keen on giving those away :P It's a lot to ask of someone when you want them to basically build all of the functionality of such a site - I just doubt that you fully understand the skill set that goes into that, and how much it would cost if you looked at a job survey for this type of professional. It would easily be $10k with most firms...and that's a pretty conservative figure.
