Windows Me has trouble with processors faster than 2ghz, and many chipsets from the last few years have no Win9x/Me drivers provided from the hardware vendors.
You do have the option to try installing Windows Me into a virtual environment. Microsoft provides Virtual PC 2004 as a free download. VMWare is a very good virtual environment as well.
