I have the smaller PS2 and the top took a hard impact (gamecube fell on it ironically enough). I hear that the disk is dragging on one of the sides but I can't tell where. Does anyone know what the mechanism is to tell the PS2 that the tray is closed? I have found the button to pull the disk brake off, but it doesn't signal the laser to read the disk. If I can start it with the tray open, I will be able to see better where the problem is. Thanks for any help!
