I am sorry to hear about your mobo. Lets start of with some of the simple things. Can you reach
www.hotmail.com, if so you should see a login for Windows Live. You should be able to login with her hotmail information. After that what do you see?
On the laptop, I would also make sure that it is clean, run all the scans that you have to make sure that it is clean. If you need help with any scans go
