Only one user of many keeps disconnecting from Term Server.

Greetings,

I have a win 2000 terminal server that serves 5 remote users. 4 or them are working fine, the 5th user is continually knocked out of (disconnected) from the term server session. It is not a physical layer issue as he still has connectivity to all network resources (and can even ping the term server while this happens, with no change in ping times). I have been through several troubleshooting steps including double checking his session settings in AD and on the term server. He is set up and is a member of the same AD groups as the other 4 users that don't exhibit the problem. It is totally random and is does not coincide with any process or task. Usually happens 8-20 times a day. No specific times or periods are better or worse than others.

One thing we have determined is that if I have him start a continuous ping to the term server before he RDP's into it and keep it running all day long, it will reduce the frequency of the issue by about 75-80 percent. Not a permanent solution but better than nothing

His event viewer and the term server event viewer show absolutely nothing that coincides with his "knock off times". I am having him keep a log of date, time, what program he was running etc. to see if I can make some kind of correlation. Are there any perfmon stats I can track?

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks.
