Grin Re: Hp Pav dv6000[moved from xp]

i noticed this post was created a few months back and am not sure if you are still having the same issue or not. i have the same exact laptop and was having the same issue. After talking to HP and finding they wanted to charge me an arm and a leg to fix it, i decided to do some research online. I came to find that all that was needed was a cable replacement. This is a cable that connects from the motherboard to the front of the laptop just under the power button. It controls the power button (mine wasnt working along with the speakers) and speakers. You can find one on ebay for about $8 and its quite easy to replace. I found instructions online, and HP has videos on their site that explain how to open up the laptop as well. If you need any help with this, feel free to contact me and Ill let ya know how i went about doing it. =)
