Ok, 50-odd views and no responses. Probably down to how I explained it. I will change the question.

Please can someone give me an idea of what I need to check, ie port forwarding, to make sure I can get the remote access? I have added a port forwarding rule on the router but that still hasnt fixed it. Any ideas? Even if you can give me the actual technical term, without fully explaining the process, I can try and figure it out for myself.
