I, myself, would not spend over half the price of a new one price to repair a broken one. I have had like the one describe and pretty much threw it away when the pump was bad. ( I think you have a verticle shaft washer).

yes, vertical. not really sure what goes bad in the pump, as i've had it apart. bearing "feels" good. 3 big springs looks ok. what is the bolt and spring for, that can be adjusted? i assume it's for pressure output? i did not have this portion apart. i may unscrew this, clean it and assemble.
as far as 1/2 the cost...one with the honda engine (i'm more concerned of a good pump, vs the eng) runs around $300. so $150 for a pump is not heard of, or anything i've found. so, i got a new wand to try, and if this does not work, i'll take it back, and guess i'll trash it. uh, do they sell a pump for around $100? thx, dm
