SP1?????

d00d..thats like way out of date..when I bought my OEM copy of 2kpro about 2 years ago, it already had SP3 included..and the present SP is SP4

I know this sounds like a pain, but what I would do is to back up data, and do a clean install and IMMEDIATELY install SP4...you can of course download all updates/service packs directly as opposed to using windows update...

this is what I frequently do (OK, not always)...I do have the SP4 for 2kpro and SP2 for XPpro on my drives for access upon a new install...

from experience, I can say that installing a Service Pack on an 'old' active OS can cause some problems...

and, oh, if you choose this path, make sure you have all the latest drivers for your hardware available..and take note of the fact that letting windoze update deal with driver updates is not suggested, use your manufacturer's drivers..
