"Crashing" is a way to put it.

Firefox is a very well made browser, actually, it's the best browser to date, and it will probably always will be with it's efficiency and reliability - adding extra appendages to it's already powerful overload (add-ons, themes, etc) will cause crashing, and these little tweaks are simply there to get the person who made the "tweak" get lots of views on his YouTube page... nothing can make it go faster unless you do it strategically and use add-ons such as Adblock Plus or NoScript, those disable things that take a long time loading, thus increasing your speed the natural way.
